Up-cycling a single use item...
Hey DJ here and I just wanted to share a fun DIY project to upcycle a single use. I have coffee everyday and usually I get my cup of joe from a neighborhood coffee joint. For the past few weeks I decided to start making my coffee at home instead of going out. I started collecting my used coffee grounds each day and thought-- hey I can make a lovely body scrub instead of throwing these out. So that’s what I did! Here is a great way to combine creativity and consciousness together.
Here’s what you will need:
Coffee grounds – approximately 1/4 cup, but you can use more if desired
Coconut oil – 1/2 cup softened
Small mixing bowl
Glass jar
Add coffee grounds to the coconut oil to a small mixing bowl and stir well. Make sure your coffee grounds are dry and your coconut oil is softened, that way they mix together nicely.
Set aside, but casually stir as it hardens for an even mix of coconut and coffee grounds. This part will take some time as you allow the mixture to firm up.
When the mixture is firm, scoop into a glass jar or preferred container. Make sure to store your scrub in a cool and dry place.
Enjoy your coco body scrub!
